Xjandria- Registered Veterinary Technician

Xjandria has lived in Ottawa for a majority of her life and stayed to go to Algonquin College to become a Veterinary Technician. She joined the QWAH family immediately after graduating in 2021. Building relationships with clients and their pets is one of the highlights of the job she enjoys the most. When Xjandria is not working, she is hanging out with her three cats, Einstein, Ember, and Enya, and spending time in her garden.

Abby – Receptionist / Vet Assistant

After graduating from the Veterinary Assistant Program at Algonquin College the beginning of 2019, Abby immediately began working in general practice, and joined the QWAH Family in February 2020.  Growing up she was constantly surrounded by all types of animals, which incited a love and need to help them.  Abby is passionate about wildlife and exotics.  In clinic she loves watching and being a part of the bonds that form between people and their pets.

Abby currently lives with her cats Knox and Poe and her Hognose snake, Peach.  In her spare time she likes to visit friends, read and play video games.

Dana – Registered Veterinary Technician

Dana was born and raised in Ottawa.  She has always had a great love for animals and it was no surprise when she decided that she was going to become a Veterinary Technician.  Dana graduated from the Veterinary Technician program at St. Clair College in Windsor, Ontario in 2016.  After working in a neurology clinic for over 3 years, Dana decided to join our team and live the general practice life.  When not at work, Dana is at home with her cat Arabella and her mischief of rats Rowena, Helga, Godric and Salazar.  Her favourite part of her job is creating relationships with clients and patients. 

Amanda – Reception / Veterinary Assistant

After working in a pharmacy for 10 years, Amanda received her Medical Laboratory Assistant / Technician diploma in the spring of 2010. She also received her Ontario Society of Medical Technologists certification the same year. Amanda has always wanted to work in the veterinary field and that dream was fulfilled when she started with Queensway West Animal Hospital in May 2010. Amanda shares her home with her two dogs, Buddy, and Harley and her cat, Edicus. Her interests outside the hospital include photography, camping, crafts, ATVing and spending time with family and friends.

Erin – Practice Manager / Registered Veterinary Technician

After living in many different parts of the world, Erin came back to Ottawa to attend Algonquin College. She first completed the Veterinary Assistant program but realized she wanted to do more in her career, so she went on to complete the Veterinary Technician program, graduating in 2018.

Erin currently lives with her two cats Jinxx and Sasha. In her spare time she loves to spend time with her friends and go travel to visit her parents.
