Dr. Katharine MacLean

Meet Katharine MacLean, DVM

Dr. Katharine MacLean graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2022. As an Ottawa native, she completed her undergraduate degree at Carleton University, specializing in biology and ecology in 2018. While in vet school, she spent her summers working at Queensway West Animal Hospital, where she solidified her passion for veterinary medicine but also provided invaluable insights into the joys and challenges of caring for beloved pets.

After graduation, Katharine delved into the fast-paced world of emergency medicine in Ottawa, where she spent two years providing critical care to animals in need. Now, as a proud member of the Queensway West Animal Hospital team, Katharine is excited to reunite with familiar faces and extend a warm welcome to new clients. With a blend of experience, knowledge, and genuine care, Katharine looks forward to continuing her journey of caring for the pets of Kanata for many years to come.

Beyond professional pursuits, Katharine enjoys staying active, whether it's hitting the ice for a game of hockey, kicking a soccer ball around, or exploring new destinations through travel. But perhaps her greatest joy comes from spending quality time with Stella, her rescue potcake from the Dominican Republic.
